i just went through this whole "decision" process back in october, november, december - once my stock turbos blew and i had a compression test done (numbers were all 120 or below) i had to decide what to do - definetly thought about selling her but then i thought of the headache involved w/ that - would suck to try to sell her w/ bad compression and seized turbos - then thought about putting stock turbos back in and just selling it that way - but then i thought if i go through that much effort i might as well keep it and do it right - thought about parting her out and moving on - but that sounded like a headache and not only that but had so much time and money invested i didnt want that to happen either. Luckily mine happened at the best time - WINTER - so i let it sick since 10/10/01 and decided to see how i felt a few months later. I can relate too cuz like yours - mine has the basic wear and years on the chasis and so on - but almost everything in it is new or modified or customized. The place where yours becomes a much tuffer decision than mine, is that mine was already a TT so i didnt have that additional headache of planning to get a tt later down the road.Really comes down to running a full "cost/benefit" analyses to see where you are w/ what you've already done - if you have the time/patience to swap out what you can and put it on the tt and part out the rest or if you simply want to dump the extra money in and keep her going a bit longer. My thought w/ my new engine is that i'll be less apprehensive to drive it on a more regular basis - w/ 130k on the motor i really didnt want to drive it much or long distances to avoid additional mileage - but since i have a new motor going in i now am starting to feel good about driving it around and on longer trips w/o that worry. Not only that, but i'll tell ya Seedy - i'm xcited as hell to get her back. I'll be honset - once my turbos blew i was sick of my Z - lots of time, money, effort, sweat, blood, tears and once i had it all nice and set up she blew on me and my compression #'s went to shit within 5 months (from june to october basically) - so i honestly wasnt excited about my Z anymore - it literally sat at nissan from 10/10/01 until last tuesday when i finally picked it up to tow to ruzzell. I'll tell you this though -seeing it sitting outside nissan and then getting in and starting her up and hearing her run made my heart start pumping again - i knew i had already committed to the engine, turbos, clutch etc and i was damn xcited again. This is doing for me now what my paint job, body kit, stage V did for me last year at this time after having my Z be a run down daily driver for 3 years - i've fallen back in love w/ my Z again. No i dont have it yet, but i know in 3 weeks i will and it will have a fresh engine, clutch, and turbos, not to mention everythign else i've already done to it - so i'm xcited and cant wait for it. I think in the end i knew i would never get out of it what i put into it and my reason for building it rather than buying a new car (viper, nsx) was becuase i loved my Z - it was mine - i had had it for 3+ years and i wanted to see what i could do w/ her. I know you're pretty much in the same boat w/ ur mods/customizing, etc - so i suggest taking a few days away from her (if you can) and think on it - do the cost/benefit and see where you come out. Believe me, in the end it will probably be an "emotional" decision to keep her and keep her going - you have a friggin "icon" of a Z in the Z world and it would be a shame to let her go if you can swallow fixing her. Just my $.02 brother, Wagz
